CheckGmail是一个功能很全面，且美观实用的Gmail辅助工具，在及时获得新邮件通知的同时，很多时候，对一些不重要的或简单的邮件的处理直接在CheckGmail中就可以进行了，极大地提高了效率。

不过最近一段时间，CheckGmail时常无法登录，总是提示用户名或密码错误，有时重启一下就好了，不过我这里情况越来越糟，昨天甚至无论如何都连接不上了。看了官方网站，作者发布了如下信息：

The bad news first: if you’re getting this error after restarting checkgmail, you seem to have encountered an IP-address-specific login issue, courtesy of everyone’s best friend Mr. Google. I’m not sure why this is happening, and I don’t know how to beat it yet. You can follow developments on the forum thread here.

The good news is that if you’re on a standard ADSL account with a dynamic IP address, you should be able to get checkgmail working again by power-cycling your modem (thus resetting the DSL connection and obtaining a new IP address).

也就是说，这是个既普遍又不普遍的问题。说普遍是因为很多人遇到了，说不普遍是因为不是所有人遇到了，比如说作者，这也导致他不能确定问题所在。不过，在这个帖子里，作者给出了暂时的解决办法，即使用“checkgmail -no_cookies”启动CheckGmail。经测试的确可用，不过大部分主要功能都不能用了，比如删除邮件、报告垃圾邮件、标记已读等。这也使CheckGmail形同鸡肋。

今天Archlinux更新了perl-libwww这个包，然后checkgmail就可以正常登录了，目前还不清楚是否跟这个包的更新有关。

今天在Checkgmail官方网站上看到问题解决了，使用SVN中最新的版本即可，在我的Archer上安装了AUR上的checkgmail-svn，果然正常了。
